Sneak peak of the knives I intend to finish as candidates for my J.S. stamp.

On the far right is the 1 1/4" round bar of W2 that they all came off of, Started as a 36" bar, and I have 13 1/2" left

Two bowies,
two fighters,
one chef,
one camp,
and one hunter.
Now to start grinding

I've got plenty of bar left, how about a Klingon kerambit shank????
I think three guthooks and a s-curved blade would look really good with an alabama chrome (duct tape for you canadinians) handle

Got these rough ground and normalized last night,
I'll finish my pre HT grind tonight and may even HT tonight

Looking good Stephen, just remember to apply the alabama chrome over one of mama's washcloths to give you a little padding, the judges will flunk you if you don't.:D:D

alabama chrome LOL

Those look great Stephan! when forging them from the bar at wat point did you cut them off? Did you just forge a bunch of flat bar or forge each blade from the bar then cut it off?

I would break down enough to do a blade, forge the tip while still on the parent bar. then hot cut the blade off, and put both back in the forge.

I try to work on 2-3 knives at a time so I'm not wasting time waiting for my piece to reheat.

Looks like you are well on your way with this batch. I have no doubts you will do well with your J.S. submission.

awesome! you'd be welcome in a production shop :D

Do you ever have trouble keeping focus on each blade while working so many at a time?

I just do the rough work in batches, once I get down to polishing and fittings and handles I'll work one knife at a time.

Very cool Stephan! :) I'm looking forward to this thread developing! :)

And best of luck on getting there... it's stressful but very rewarding!!! :)

Wow, lots of great WIPs lately by topnotch smiths. I have one main thing to say, you're not done yet? Come on, what's the hold up? I am, of course, being facetious. You are blazing away. Take your time dude. I don't want to miss anything. Thank you for sharing with us!

Stephan,
Looking great. I'll be a root'in for ya in Atlanta.
See ya in the Pit, show'in off that JS stamp
