I have to say that I am in love!
She is beautiful, agile, and last but not least, aggressive!

11" blade
16" oal
3/8" thick @ widest point
I cannot find any imperfections in the engraveing and the horn is absolutely beautiful. The brass butcap is domed, almost like a Chagleti but not as extreme. The karda and chakama are black with a few stripes of white streaming through them. I cannot begin to explain the pattern of the horn on the Jewel, you have to see it!

I think the WWII style may become my favorite, even though this one is a chiruwa (sp) style handle. Small enough to be carried, light enough to be agile, and big enough to be bad.

I will eventually get that red satin cover from Terry on this one!
It has spoken to me more in the few minutes that I have had it than some of the others I have had for months. She has ALOT of spirit!

Dave, it sounds great. Hope you bring it to the next convention. I would love to see it. :)

Thanks for the report from the field, Dave. I thought you'd like that knife and I was right for a change.

Thanks for the report Dave (sniff...), I know you two will make a wonderful couple (sniff, sniff...). Please do bring her to the next convention (blubber, sniff, snort....). I would love to see her (waaahhhhhhh!!!!!).

Uncle... do you think that Sanu would like to make some of these on a regular basis??? I love the combination, but *would* like to see it with a wooden handle. It could almost be... (hushed reverent voice) the perfect khuk

My list now has grown much longer...

Katana
UBE
Bob's Bolo
AK
Dave's Jewel (wooden handled)
YCS

Not to mention the other several that I've fallen for over the last nine months :D:D:D

.........between Satin & Velvet.;)
Dave the skirts are made from Velvet and the tops from Satin, just depends on which end you're more interested in.:o :p

Just tzn Bud....:)

This has to be one of or the most beautiful khukuris I've seen with the angled shoulder!!!!
Sanu out did his usual state of perfection on this khukuri.
This little Jewel is one I wouldn't mind having in my collection, chiruwa handle and all and y'all know how I feel about chiruwa handles!!!!!!
Dayumed good catch Dave, Congrats!!!!

You might want to take extra precautions with that banded color horn. It may not be so apt to cracking since it's in two pieces and therefore has a little stress relief, but I would soak this one down twice as much as I would a standard handle until it wouldn't soak up anymore preservative at all.
I love the banded multi colored banded horn and prefer it on the fancier knives, but it is a fact of life that the solid black is a lot more stable and less prone to cracking.

I have been out and about all day, just now getting back.

Yvsa,
Should I use something other than Corana? Is there some sort of oil? Corana is an ointment, I rub it on thick and let it sit for a week or two. Is there anything that penetrates better? I want to be extra extra good to this one. ;)

Any yall dont worry, I will have to show this one off at the conventions in the future just to see your reactions. :p ;) :D

DAve, I'll be looking forward to seeing it and you in Reno next year. I'm sure the kamis will be pleased to inspect it for you. Inspect? Those monkeys never inspect anything.
