My JK Hiker along with some other traditional knives.

I posted in this in the outdoor gear forum but as it has JK content I'll post it here as well.;)

When I say traditional I'm not thinking of any particular style such as a Nessmuk etc but rather knives made from good old carbon steel with nice real wood handles, the kind of knives your grandfathers might have carried !

Hi Pit - That is a beautiful quartet of knives!

I love the natural wood and simple designs.

You will remember this one - I could see a knife like this in a sheath on a mountain man in the 1800's. For those that don't remember or weren't around, this was JK's passaround knife he made to let customers try out his then-new scandi grind.

If I remember right, that HD Hiker was the first knife I ever gave away in a contest. It was a photo contest, and I think you won it with a photo of your son and Maisy.

I think you are right John, it was also my very first custom knife and set the benchmark for those that followed !

love these pictures, that passaround knife looks sweet, what happened to it i the end, anyone remember?
