I put together another mini neck rig today using my JK Last resort knife, inner-tube, ferro rod and some fatwood.....
Obviously I had to try it out.......
I'd guess it weighs about the same as an average SAK so you don't need a neck like Mike Tyson to carry it but for those who don't like anything around their neck the bundle is only a little larger than an average SAK and heading back to my car I just dropped it into my back pocket no problem !
On my way back I came across this fella, it's a Tiger Lily and the corms taste pretty good either raw or boiled, the nearest taste I could describe would be wild rice !
The good thing is that these come out just as the Camas are dying so I have edible bulbs for quite a while !
A point to note, always make a digging stick to get to the corm as if you just try pulling them up the bulb will break off underground. As they edible anytime during the flowers life unless you are surviving it is best to try one after they have shed their seeds as you will kill the plant once you dig up the bulb !!!!
