Here are some pro shots of my Js knives. Just thought I'd stick 'em up here.

First two shots are by Eric at Point7, last three are by our very own Jim Cooper. I cannot tell you how elated I am with Jim's photos.... absolutely top drawer work. You are a wizard with your equipment my friend.

The knife in the 2nd and 3rd shot was the George Peck knife.

Hey Roger... here's a "little better" look at what you're getting ;) Thanks for trusting in me so much! :D

Thanks for looking :)

Coop's make your knives look better, IMO.

Best Regards,

Fabulous knives:thumbup: Looks like Whatever the step above Mastersmith work is to me;)

Okay... I'm drooling....a lot.....

Handle design is something I think an aweful lot more about now than I used to (blame Farr) and I REALLY like what I see in that regard from these photos - particularly in the top two pieces.

Put me down for a beefy little hunter to match the Blackwood southwest Nick. ;)

The ivory piece is just sublime. The understated but super-clean fittings really compliment the crisp blade profile. VERY well done.

Roger

Don't wear out your new stamp this year Nick!
Customers will be bangin' your door down.
Sweet stuff.
What was your handle material choice on the George Peck Award knife?

All great looking knives Nick.
I along with Roger really like your handle designs. They scream "pick me up".

The Peck Award knife is particularly interesting as it demonstrates classic yet modern design characteristics at the same time.

I like seeing photos by Eric, Coop and Chuck together as it demonstrates three totally different styles, all of which great, however different.

Nick,
Your knives are freakin' OUTSTANDING!!

Coop,
Your images,as per usual, never cease to amaze.

Roger & Peter,
You guys both suck.  :D

Doug

Nick, your knives are incredible!!! I love each an everyone of them!!!

The pix are superb!!

I love those multiple blade shots of all the JS or MS knives. Eric is much better at that than me.

Nick's work is clearly seen: Absolutely topmost level F&F, and his sense of flow and ergonomics are second to none--at any ranking level.

Yes, I use a lot of contrast. It's an effective spice in my toolkit. Thanks Nick, and others, for your support. :)

Let's talk about the knives, please.... :D

Coop

Outstanding knives and photos.

Nick, your knives are even more remarkable in the hand. Glad I got the chance to see and hold a few.

Much more difficult to do a group photo with the same punch as a single knife photo. Optimizing lighting, angles, contrast, and all, is quite the challenge. That's a nice, clean shot that shows the group well.

However... Coop, you know these photos of yours are great! For the rest of us who don't have the knives, at least we have the photos.

the pictures don't do the knives justice i got to handle them all weekend and i can tell you the pictures just don't capture the feel of these things.

Wow, thank you very much guys!!! :D

I'm still floating from the entire experience of the show, and all of your kind words will keep me up there a bit longer :)

I agree about Coop's shots... I feel Coop's shots are a VERY VERY excellent representation of what the knives actually look like in hand. Peter and Roger (shortly) will be able to give their opinion on that one.

I had asked Coop if he could bring some black "ceiling material" and the like for the show to shoot the hamon, and he was way ahead of me and already had his bag-O-tricks packed up and ready. I am SO glad I took these to him. I would have taken all 5 if not for some time constraints and miscommunication between me and a customer.

Joss, thanks for noticing the pommel file-work. It was first brought to my attention in a design rendering by Stephen Foster and Roger Pinnock. I told them back then that I didn't think it could be done (at least done CLEAN). I had a couple ideas come to me in my sleep deprived delirium and they just happened to work to make that little groove happen :)

Coop managed to pick up all of those sublte yet very important (to me and the hours that went into them! lol) details.

Erik, thanks so much for that!

I really strive for balance, and sometimes it's a really hard thing to get and still get the look I want. That's why I reground this blackwood bowie after it was all done (oh yea, that's it btw, lol).

These knives appear relatively simple overall, yet I can hardly believe how hard it was for me to get them done and to where I was satisfied. It just gives me a nearly incomprehendible appreciation and respect for the guys that do super complicated stuff AND manage to execute it clean as a whistle.

Thanks again guys.

WoW this is some superb work.

With the talent coming up through the ABS ranks, its a great time to be a knife collector. You are going to spoil it for the next couple of guys testing for JS :)

Great job Nick!

Congratulations on attaining your JS rating and winning the Peck Award. The Peck winner is my favorite of the lot. Gotta love that hamon!

How about some particulars on the knives; length, blade steel, handle material, etc?
