My Junglas is getting lonely...

So.. my Junglas has already seen a lot of work this past week, and I love it to death. So much so, it's gotten more use in one week than my other two big knives combined... and they're getting jealous. Favorite big knife I own, for sure. However, it has been getting in fights with my USMC FK/U KABAR and my Cold Steel Espada XL. They've been bantering and screaming at one another for nights now, and finally last night my Junglas told me it wants me to adopt another ESEE knife.

However, this is where I'm stumped...

I've been looking at the Izula II's, ESEE-5's and ESEE-4's but I simply cannot decide... I won't be making the purchase until next payday comes 'round, but I know I want it to be a more utilitarian knife, which makes me want to lean towards the Izula II.

Any thoughts?

FK/U = Fighting Knife / Utility - your typical KABAR with leather washers.

Edit:

Oooh... those are pretty though.

I think with a Junglas in hand, the 5 is a bit redundant. I think you'd be happier with a 4 or maybe a 3 to augment. Now don't get me wrong, you will want, and probably get, a 5 someday. I am just saying next. My rationale: Junglas is a real "outdoorsy" kind of knife...a camp knife. The 5 was of course designed as a downed pilot escape tool...urban survival kind of thing...more likely to pry, hack, or smash something with it than split wood or...here's where the 4 or 3 comes in...whittle or carve something.

So if you are fixing to stay outdoors, go with the 4 I think. I love mine, will be getting another soon...gonna strip the second one probably and maybe even put wooden handles for a more traditional look. We'll see.

I have a 5, a DT 4, a 3MIL, an Orange 3, an ESEE HEST (if that still counts), and a green Izula with scales. What's next? Debating on another 4 vs a Junglas.

IZULA!!!

I love those Kabar 1217's, my first real knife, and still love them today, as much as then.

Junglas and HEST get along well, but if you want to stick to ESEE solely, consider a 3.

Thanks gentlemen, I think I may go with the 4 or an Izula. Maybe both! Haha.

The 4, the 5 or the Izzy-II are all good choices. Honestly go with your gut, no matter your choice you'll be getting a good knife. Other than some cash, you've got nothing to lose...this is nothing but a win situation.

Odds are in time you'll get them all anyway. Enjoy whatever you end up getting!

hahaha... i was going to say i'd go with the 4 or 5, depending on what you want to do, and an izula.

as of right now, i've only got the izula, but i'm planning on getting a 5 and a junglas to round out the collection. who knows, maybe a 4 will be in my future someday as well.

he makes a very good point. i have both the 5 and the Junglas. i still carry the 5 (in the woods) when i have the Junglas, but that's mainly because the 5 is just my main knife. i view the 5 as a great knife to carry when you can only have ONE knife, kind of a 'half way' knife or a 'jack of all trades'. while i do use mine for small detailed tasks, if a Junglas is already on hand, a smaller knife would probably round out the combo a little better than a 5 would. so, i gotta go with the majority and say an Izula II or a 4, but ONLY if it's to be used in conjunction with the Junglas. otherwise, go with the 5 as it's (imo) the most versatile of the bunch.

I love them all but I have to say. Between an Izula-II, 5 and Junglas, there's nothing you can't accomplish.
