My pack came today. I won't bother with pictures--there are better pictures on the site than I can take anyway.

But the quality on this thing is TOP NOTCH! I'm somewhat of a pack snob. I've always considered Eagle to be the standard for sewn cordura quality. This is as good if not better. It's better than my Maxpedition stuff for sure. I have never had a Kifaru (I understand that they are also pegging the quality meter) so I can't speak to that but I would be hard pressed to believe the quality is any better than what this pack has.

The organization layout has been well thought out, too: Pockets for the small stuff but still room for larger items like jeans and jackets, even when the inside pockets are full. That's a pet peeve of mine--on some packs, you fill the pockets and there's no more room on the inside:mad:

Couple of other initial things I like about it:
1. Not overkill on the molle. I don't need enough molle to attach 3 more entire packs, I'll just buy a bigger pack, thank you.

2. Plenty of straps to cinch things down. I like everything snugged up and squared away, not rattling and shifting weight the entire time.

3. The belt and straps tuck in the back to clean it up for airline or other travel where you don't want to catch every obstruction you encounter.

4. I hate hydration packs but for those that love them, it has 2 sleeves where you can fit them.

5. An inside, floating, removable baffle to cinch down clothes so that when you open the large compartment, even when the pack is vertical, the clothes don't go everywhere.

If you guys are on the fence, snatch one up. Who knows how long the next order will take to get here and if you don't like it, I don't think you'd have a problem getting rid of it on the forum.

This is the kind of pack you could accidentally drive 50 miles dragging it behind the Suburban and when you realize it, you shrug and say, "I think my pack got scratched a bit. Oh well."

Once again, great job, Mike and Jeff.

I got the tan one and jeff has already taken good pics of that. Next time I'm running from the ghazis in the hindu kush, I'll have someone snap a pic of the pack :)
