Finally the Mountain Pine Beetle infestation got to your place, eh? :)
Nice, seasoned blades there, especially the BK-9.
 
nope, i spent the summer wacking willow and alder saplings, cutting meat and tons of onions, beets, spuds, peppers, although i did spread a few slabs of grainy mustard on bread too.
 
For patina take Tabsco on the blade an 15min by 40-50°C in the heat...thats looks vers fine..
