Kershaw Knockout for me, was not a Knockout, came with a backspacer that doesn't line up with the handles, blade completely off-centered and little grip, so what did I do about that? After a few months of owning it, first I deassisted it then yesterday, an idea popped into my head, results are below. Sorry about bad picture quality, its only a iPod Touch camera. It's a beautiful knife stock too of course, just wanted to mess around with it since I don't care much for it. But now I do.

Backspacer looks funky because the paint wasn't exactly what I was looking for.

Looks good. I've frequently thought of doing the same to just the lock bar, just to add some contrast.

Alright, here's what I did:

Step 1: A TON of oven cleaner, I used easy-off, just took it completely apart then sprayed it on, covering the entire handle, the anodizing is thick as heck so it took a lot of not so easy-off, then I just scrubbed it under running water to clean it off. That's for the aluminum handles only.

Step 2: Sand the steel parts, started with 80 then 120, 220, 400, 600, just don't sand the lockface, that would be really bad, I gave up on the pocket clip so I just painted over it.

Step 3: Backspacer is plastic so I roughed the surface up with 80 grit sandpaper then painted it, the spray paint bottle cap color looks quite different for some reason, so that's why it looks kind of weird.
The screws I masked off the threads and painted the top only.

Step 4: Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish, rub it in on the handles and lock, makes the handle feel oily for awhile so wait for it to dry.

hahaha nice work man, it turned out great, but while doing it you left a peculiar odor
of oven cleaner in my room. AXE got rid of it though ha.

This is nice. Seriously, good work and thanks for also sharing how you did it.
