I got a Kershaw Skyline today but had an issue with it. I didn't like the texture on the handles.
So i sanded down the handles with a fine sanding block and 300 grit sand paper that i had in my garage and this is what i got. I also thought it would look cool if the screws were silver so i sanded out them too. What do you guys think? I love the new smooth texture.
The pic is ontop my crappy car lol, i thought the blue looked nice though.

I really like the look of the silver screws. I would never sand down the handle personally though, I love how grippy it is out of the factory. Looks cool though.

Thanks, Its for me just a glorified letter opener and the smoothness is gentle on the pockets. Different strokes for different folks :p

Put a different finish on the blade, Idk what this finish would be called but i just sanded on it and buffed it until it reached a slight shine.

Looks nice! Be cautious when you sand down the G10. The dust is nasty stuff that you don't want to get in your lungs.

Thanks, ill keep that in mind in the future, I plan to try to make custom scales sometime in the close future.

True story. G10 dust is very toxic, you should really be wearing a respirator but one of those cheap dust masks should be enough for light sanding.

Yes it is a health hazard. The accumulation of G10 particles in your lungs can have bad consequences down the road. G10 has glass fibers in it, so the dust has fine glass/silica in it. Ugly stuff to get in your lungs.

An easy way to control the dust when sanding is to wet sand it.

Don't forget to ALWAYS wear eye protection.
