My "Key Three" collecting strategy

I’ll preface this post by saying that I am bored tonight... so this may be a ramble.

Buck fever....I started my collection with a 112 and from then tried to buy pretty much one of everything and soon realized that capital expenditures were exceeding the fiscal budget…

So I have now come up with a strategy of what I am looking for instead on buying what ever comes by my face. I call it the “Key Three”. Basically I take a model or a line of knives, identify the three main ones that I feel are distinct and try and get the best examples I can.

Here are some:

112: Micarta, Segua and Ebony scaled models,
500 series: 500,501 and 503 with burgundy micarta scales.
500 series(b): 531, 532 and 535
110: A two, three and four dot'er.
110(b): An ATS34, BG-42 and S30V
BuckLites: a 422, 424 and 426 in the original brown valox.
Finger Grooves: a 560, 426 and a four dot 110.

I am considering staring a fixed blade group but can’t arrive on the “Key Three” model numbers. Any suggestion on this or any other groups?

Told you I was bored…

Well, I think the 124 Frontiersman would be in the top three. Next, probably the 119. The third choice is tough, I'm not sure which one I would choose...

The Vangard has been made in 420hc, BG42 and ATS 34, Plus Buckcoate and Ionfusion. The 119 also has several variations.

hummmm...what would i consiter needfull-
I would suggest:
On the 110 standards:
1- liner / 3 dot / 25 year with the gold / and a 2002 with anvil stamp

On 110 fancy 110 :
1 with SV 30 or BG 42 and with horn / bone scales on nickel silver (forget ats 34 as it is a Japanese not an American steel) and this with the Idaho stamp
1 org 186 Ti handle
1 org 426 with the drop point blade (this has finger groves also)

on folding hunter and lock back derivates of the 110 :
one 112
one 500
one 450
one buck lock
one 525
one sawby

well these are my recommendations on the folding knives...
