Since its been raining virtually non stop for a week now. I have been just fooling around the house sharpening my knives, unpacking boxes, and today I was going through all my camp stuff. I started building my bushcraft/survival kit a few years ago and is constantly changing. I'm trying to reduce the weight in my kit to bear essentials. However every time I go into the outdoor store I see something and instantly decide that I need it, oh well more stuff for me. So I have divided my kit into categories, here we go.

First is cutlery. Usually I'll carry a Collins camp axe; which is excellent. But I've been carrying a corona saw, marttiini fixed blade and a neck knife I made out of a chunk of Ontario machete.

Second is fire. I picked up this stainless emberlit at the outdoor store a few months back. I also carry a fire steel and a Altoids tin containing a lighter, dryer lint, char cloth, and fatwood.

Third is water. I just got this 64oz klean kanteen and mug about a month ago. I also have this 3ish liter platypus bladder.

Next is shelter. Pretty simple, just a Sol emergency blanket and cordage. Probably going to add jute to my kit.

Now we have lighting. Pretty basic and budget friendly. Coleman lantern, energizer headlamp, and glow sticks.

First aid, also pretty basic.

And finally my pack. A condor camera that I got a month or two back. Pretty good bag rather large though and is prone to getting hung up in dense foliage.

I'd swap the bag for a small backpack (more comfortable and you want a little wiggle space for hike specific items), throw in a map and compass, sun block, sun glasses, sun hat, primaloft hooded jacket, wool watch cap and some gloves.

I'd also keep that bladder full and maybe pack some water purification tablets.

I'd suggest to toss in a few water purification tablets, few 55 gallon heavy duty trash bag(has more use than the AMK space blanket), signal mirror/whistle, few feet of duct tape about the cup?

Saw this bag at the outdoor store and had to have it. On sale for $50 rather than $75. I really need to stay away from that place. But the belts on this pack are husky friendly which is the first I've seen.

Water tablets are with my first aid. Don't dis my cup, its old school.

No, I do like your cup, and had used one similar for years in the past. I genuinely do suggest putting duct tape around round objects, either on my trekking poles(most recommended), water bottle or cup. ;)

Cool bag btw, looks good and functional.
