My knife makers stamp- advice

I am thinking of using this logo at 1/2" (longest length). One person (have three bids out) recommended using an outline instead of solid letters.

I would appreciate advice on this. I do prefer a stamp over etching and this is the logo I already use on my leather work (larger).

Outline versus solid and other comments are welcome.
Thanks!

Makes sense, especially when you consider that all of the solid parts of the stamp equal that much more steel needing to be smashed out of the way. It's what I did on mine...

If you are going to use it as a stamp I would say leave it soild but if you are going to etch it outline it.

I'd recommend the dark portions be stamped into the steel, that the mark
be pressed into the steel, and that you check with Buckeye for your stamp.

Here it is. A friend of mine designed it originally with a solid flame, but I figured that that's quite a bit of steel to move. I think it looks better as an outline anyway.

And yes, for all the smartypantses out there... I did reverse the picture :D

Before I forget: made by Buckeye Engraving. I'm very pleased with it!
