I made a knife for myself and thought some of you might like to see it. This one has a 10 inch blade of 5160 machine finished, except the clip is hand sanded. The fittings are forged steel and the Stag is dyed Mahogany. I had the Rowe's try something different for my sheath. It's covered in rawhide. I wanted something to withstand briars and scratches.

I've been forging some axes lately and there's about a 2 lb one in the picture. Its wrapped wrought iron and has a 5160 bit forge welded in.

Very nice Lin! I like the rawhide covered sheath, that is a neat Idea.

Really like the forge finish on the guard...good stuff Lin, thanks for sharing.

Great combo! The knife, blade finish, and the sheath all look ready for work!

Nice looking axe head too!

Thank you guys. I'm really liking it.

I've also gotten into making some belt axes and full size axes in the old wrapped eye fashion. That axe is about 1 1/2 lb of wrought iron with a forge welded HC steel bit. Here's a shot of the axe head alone.

Great looking knife and sheath, ready for action by the looks. Love the forged guard and finish of it and the axe head looks the biz.
Cheers Keith

Liking that one a lot, Lin! Great to see it is for you. What a nice one to have on board.

Good looking knife, Lin. (Glad to hear you've got a Rhea Bowie!)

That's a neat axe, too. I want to hear about your forging those axes.

See you at blade.

John
