So I recently picked up this great knife. It was all rusty and crudded-up so I took a revolving powered wire brush to the rust and a vertical belt sander to the edge. And now I have some questions. Namely, what is it, how much is it worth (if anything), and is there anything special about it.

There are only three things on it. TEMPERED STEEL, MADE IN INDIA, and on the other side the brand, ALLIED within a gear.
The background grid is 1" squares. The whole length is 8.5", blade 4". The pattern of rings on the handle is 4 leather, red plastic, black plastic, metal.

You're not allowed to ask about value unless you're a gold member or higher, but I can tell you this knife is a cheapo junk knife that's worth nothing.

Btw just as an FYI a good knife shouldn't have to tell you it's made of tempered steel.

You aren’t supposed to ask for the value of an item unless you are a gold member.

However I will do you a solid and let you know this knife is worth 1 million monopoly dollars.

I would be good for a throwing knife!

...but you had some good fun and experience in working on it...that is worth-while.

It’s worth absolutely nothing except potential sentimental value.

Maybe a buck or two to the right buyer at a yard sale.

Dude, shuddup. He got a tempered one!

Seriously, OP, these guys can be a bit rough around the edges, especially with newbies. Don’t let them discourage you.

You did a nice job cleaning up a knife that will make a fun letter opener or something. Use it on light duty tasks. Don’t ask much and don’t expect much and you’ll never be disappointed in it.

Keep hunting up and restoring knives. Who knows, maybe the next one will be a diamond in the rough. Congrats on being part of our sick club.

Wow, that was fast.
Didn't know about not asking, sorry.
But since you know for certain that it's worthless, maybe you can enlighten me as to why?

Oh. Thanks SoCalEDC. And it weighs about 2 pounds, so it would be a decent hammer.
I just couldn't find anything about the Allied maker. And I'm still trying. But google keeps wanting to default to the Allied Powers of WWI and WWII.
19-3ben, I don't usually let first responders get to me, as they're trying hard not to post First! or Gay! like they've done all their lives, the youngsters.
It balances right on the tang, though.

As one or two others have stated- Asking values is prohibited without a gold or above membership.

Got to close this thread- but do stick around.. Dig through some of the threads here and learn.
Great place for an education!
