This is a knife I made for a buddy.
He got the idea for the blade from a Randall or Russell, cannot quite remember which and said he wanted the guard and pommel similar to the Rambo 3. The handle was left to me. Hope there are not copyrights to knife part shapes!

The blade is 01 tool steel, 9" long and 1/4" stock. The guard and pommel are made of 420.
The handle is Kingwood and the picture really does not do it any justice. It is a beautiful wood.
Hidden tang with a good balance. I did not think to weigh it before I sent it to him.

Wow, those are very nice grinds Mike! I like it a lot.
Regards,
Greg

Very cool, looks like it could be a little on the heavy side, but if it's ballanced it'd be very quik in the hand.

Very nice looking knife. I definately like it. How is the butt cap attached? What kinda sheath is it getting?

Terry,
The butt cap is attached with a stainless allen cap screw, you cannot see it on the pic. I put some loctite on the screw, secured it and then filed it down until the evidence of the recess for the allen key was no longer there. About 2mm of the head is still sticking out, this is what the customer wanted.
As for the sheath, he wanted to take care of that himself too, he has a friend that does leather work so it will get a leather sheath.
When that is done I will ask him to take a pic and I will post it.
Thanks for the positive comments.
Mike

Absulutely dangerous blade and nice function with the gaurd. Thanx for the pic.

Very nice knife! The Rambo II style handle gives it a certain 80s nostalgic look.

Thank you for all the accolades and interest gentlemen.
It is very inspirational and much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Mike
