Hey Guy's not long now. These are the knives I am bringing to Jerry's show. I am missing something on the posting so this is going to be really clumsy.
From left to right they are...

Christmas Ribbon Fighter, 7" Damascus blade with Nickel Twist fittings and walrus, will try to post a close up of the blade. Peter Del Raso saw the blade and said it looked like Christmas ribbon and the name stuck.

Outback Fighter, Bit of Australiana this one. The blade is K990 or the Australian equivalent of W2, very active Hamon. The fittings are wrought iron from a large pintail hinge found on a station property in the Simpson Desert. The iron is probably 125 years old and has some great texture to it. The handle is Gidgee of course. it is one of the last blocks from a tree a mate and i found in Queensland a few years ago. 3000 mile round trip to find one tree, but it was a good one.

Blizzard Hunter, Blizzard Damascus Hunter with Nickel Damascus fittings and Stag. It is 8" long overall.

I will put the rest up in another post as computer says no to putting them all up at once.

Round two

Green Mammoth Quillon Dagger

I am calling this one The Lucky Mosaic. If you have the blade in front of you you can see four leaf clovers all down the blade. The fittings are a straight Nickel Laminate that has been cut away forming arrow heads. It is a frame handle with some fantastic green and cream colour in the mammoth. The blade is 10.25" long and the whole thing is approximately 16" to the end of the finial.

That is a lovely set of blades Shawn, you should do very well at the show!!

Righto last two shots

The one on the left is the close up of the Ribbon Fighter, I am really pleased with this pattern

The second photo is an artifact Walrus Ivory Bowie. The cut just behind the collars was done with a stone tool. At some point a caveman was working on this in the cave shed and something stopped him from finishing the job. I thought it was fun to finish it off.(I know someone is going to need to finish stuff in my shed one day in the hopefully distant future!) The blade is 10" long and 15.5 " overall. The fittings are browned ladder pattern and contrast really well against the creams of the ivory. The sheath fittings are matching ladder pattern

It should be a great weekend, off to pack the bag and get on the plane in a day and a bit.

Thanks for looking.

By the way open offer to any knife photographers out there, free room and board in Australia if you ever think of moving!

Cheers
Shawn

Beautiful stuff!

Really like that "gentleman's bowie" in the first post!

Kind regards,

Jos

Beautiful line up Shawn, all those attending are in for a treat. Watch out for Terry and his pet snakes. :D

Bill

Great group of knives. Wish I could see those in person.

Ya'll have fun now, Shawn.

John

VERY nice line-up Shawn. I suspect you will have a great show.

The damascus on the "ribbon fighter" is REALLY cool.

Peter

Reckon it's springtime Down Under. The fall weather in Arkansas probably won't be much different.

Nice line up. They're all great, but the dagger is my fave.

See you Friday!

Cheers,

Very Nice looking batch of knives Shawn I really like what you did with the Dagger I hope you have a great time you can tell me all about it at Blade

Lousy pics of some exceptional knives. Played with them all and have to say the fit and finish can't be beat. Doubt any of them last the first day. Hope all the other makers have a great show too.

See you in a couple of weeks mate.

Great work Shawn as always! All the very best for the Micro Show from everyone back home

Shawn's work underscores the 'master' in Mastersmith. Whooooooey!

I know you will do well. So savvy of Jerry & Co. to have included you also.

I'll be paying attention to the followup posts.

Best,

Coop

I always find Artifact ivory fascinating. I saw a knife years ago ( J Anders ? ) that used ivory with a blackened fire drill hole. I wish I'd grabbed it. Nice looking stuff, have a great show. Tell Terry we miss him, he should make one-a-month !! :-). Tom
