I had a tough time deciding what to buy at Knob Creek, but it was soon made easier because they sold most everything I was looking at ;)

This was the last paper micarta handled SJ Tac so I decided I'd better not wait any longer. I also picked up the Spec Ops sheath which fits it great (after approx 1 minute of alterations)

And an "in hand" shot with the lanyard around my wrist

And with the lanyard just around my hand, after a little experimenting this really locks your hand on the handle and because the lanyard is tight on the rear talon hole there is no way for your hand to slip forward. While I generally don't stab, this sure would keep your hand away from the edge

Strangely enough I didn't have much of a choice of colors on the lanyard either as they sold about as quick as the knives ;)

That SJT combo is sweet. Those handles look great with that finish. How do you like the Spec Ops sheath for it?

Great looking knife! Cool lanyard. These are the ones made by your daughter and avail. from the Swamp Rat Co. Store correct? I'll have to get an order in for a few asap...

Brian and Silas,
Thanks, I really like the black and green. It looks better than I had ever imagined. Also the SJ Tac is a lighter knife than anticipated. Just about perfect for any of my needs. I really like the sheath as well. I haven't worked it out much yet, but so far so good. It fits almost perfectly, only a minor modification of the kydex at the top so that the knife sits lower. I just used a wire cutter and trimmed a little off.

That's correct, she does a great job and I'm very proud of her work. Let me know if you have any questions or want any special lengths. They can be ordered at www.shop.ratknives.com (small plug ;) )

:D:D

Eric, what blade finish is that, it looks grey.

Great pics Eric! :D Thank You for posting them - especially the "in hand shots"! I'm thinking of getting a SJ and your pictures are very helpful. Could you post a comparative picture of SJ and a Howling Rat??? What's the aspect ratio of SJ? Is teh blade wider than in SJ? Sorry for all these questions - but I'm really considering buying a SJ and befor I do it - I'd like to know as much as I can about it.

Randucci,
Chuck is correct, the blade is green. My photo skills just don't show the true beauty of this baby ;)

Oh you dirty rat!

That's the one I wanted!!!

Congrats on the nice snag!!! :D

Hey for once I can actually blame Porkerson!!! :D

Wow Eric that was quick! Thank you very much! :D With every picture you post I want SJ more and more :D Now I'm torn! So little money and three awesome Busses - SJ, the new model and of course Heavy Duties!

That is a very nice piece, Eric. Of course, I would have recommended a Swamp Rat. :D

It's GREEN!?!?! Not that your pictures aren't great, I just couldn't tell it was green. Man that is a nice combination, green & black. I will definetly have to try to find one in that configuration. And the lanyard is a nice looking addition, it looks very well made.

Good choice Eric, if I had money I would have bought that one. Its a really beauty, and they feel so nice in the hand... Now, what can I sell around here...

Awesome, thanks for sharing! I'm waiting on mine, it was supposed to ship last week. I am even more excited, having seen yours in hand. Congrats and again, Thanks.

Nice combo Eric. I wish I could see it first hand. The paper looks like is has a nice smooth curve to is as it wraps around to the spine.

Eric saved me from myself by grabbing it before I did. For those of you that haven't handled the SJT yet, I can say that it is one of the sweetest blades that I've ever handled.

Congrats Eric on a great knife/sheath combo. Now about that AD...

Nice combo, that green and black. I'm still hoping for a lil green&black love in tomorrow's notifications!

Nice snag, Eric. I'm jealous of the access you have to wander around the factory floor and see these beauties! What a job!
