This has to be the nicest kukhri in the world. Oh is it nice. I can't wait to start chopping with it(after reading the saftey instructions first). I've always been kind of a tree hugger so maybe I'll wear some ear muffs so I can't hear them screaming.

Oh yeah, It's a 16.5" WWII HI with wooden handle.

Great choice, Silas. One of my first, also.

Remember, you're probably not going to khuk anything that you wouldn't have axed or sawn, anyway.

Welcome.

The WWII is the jack of all trades khuk. Either length you get will do just about anything you could want. Of the 15 or so HI products that i own, the 18" WWII is my tried and true working khuk. Pair it with a JKM or bilton and i could hack down a sapling and whitle a walking stick. Pair it with a 22" GRS and i could fell and limb all day. you made a fine choice, Silas:)

Silas?

We did some extensive investigation.

As it turns out, yours IS the best khukuri ever made.

Congratulations on your good fortune. It must be karma. Use it safely and in good health.

Nice one, Silas. The 16.5" WWII was also my first choice for a khukuri. The best thing about a jack-of-all-trades-khukuri like that is that it'll help you decide on what you want for your personal ideal khuk. For example, if you want something with more chopping power, you can get one of the larger AKs or the GRS. Or if you feel like you want something more in the martial arts quick section, you can try a Kobra, GS, Chitlangi, etc. Or, you can just do like most of us did and buy all of the above. ;)

I have two 18" WWII's, a Bura and a Sher. To me, they are a bit awkward, a tad heavy, a little long. But for heavy chopping, they are fine. I'm just smaller than average, so they're a bit big all around.

I also had a Bura and a Sher in 16.5". The Bura sings to me. It's my go to khukuri. The one I grab when the job is unknown or things go bump in the night. The Sher is just a shade heavier, but I know it's a Sher and not a Bura when I pick it up.

You notice I said had? I still have the Sher. But I picked up 2 cracked handle blems, both Bura's, so I now have THREE 16.5" Bura's. One to use, one by my bed, and one for a spare. Plus the Sher. And the two 18"ers.

As they say in pistol competition, one gun to shoot, one gun for a spare, and one gun in the shop ( getting worked on ). I do that with my CCW CZ83 380's. I have three of them, all with a 13+1 capacity mag in them, and two spare 10 round magazines.

Silas, great choice and welcome. I bet you'll have the second and third best khukuris in the world very soon. :D
