My outdoors/cutlery enthusiasm has finally rubbed off on her--everybody say hi to Lauren or, as her new screen name dubs her, m3n4c3! :D:D:D

Well, that's stage one.

When she starts getting bit by her knives, that'll be stage two.

Endlessly sharpening, trying for the *perfect* edge, stage three.

But at least you're not getting made fun of so much anymore, right?

I got my lauren into fishing, knives, archery, motorcycles, photography and a bunch of other things! Lauren's are the easiest to convert :-)

A little more out of order. Being bit was stage one roughly a week or two after meeting him at college (around three years ago) :D He got me a Delica Wave as my first knife and I so happened to be cutting a bagel one morning and sliced the side palm of my left hand. Five stitches, a fresh tetanus shot, and a numb arm later: I had learned my lesson about using a non-serrated edge and cutting towards myself! Oh, and this was all while living in a dorm room on campus as a freshman. We learned where the health center was after an hour of walking all the way across campus and having to turn around when we learned the health center wasn't where we first thought it was (took so long because of fresh snow and unpaved sidewalks).

....oh, and I still poke fun at him ;) I'm not the one with the massive collection of sharp things!

Yeah...those plain edge saber grinds can slip and bite YOU instead of the bagel if you aren't extra vigilant! :o

Fortunately the motorcycles and photography were on my list well before I met him  Archery was there too but I hadn't gotten a chance to try it until he gave me some lessons (certified level 2 instructor).

Suppose it came naturally for me with sharp things however.....I took began taking fencing lessons in 8th grade with a friend because we wanted to do something that involved "swords". I took that for two years until high school demanded a bit more of me with my academics and activities. I also had been dying to obtain some sword online in middle school but my parents refused to let me have one. I'd go to medieval festivals and beg for one, haha!

nice.... menace!

:D Did she choose that or you?

Funny enough a friend gave me the nickname in high school to describe my antics as well as personality. Now it's an online alias as well as my car's license plate.....it's rather fitting I think!

Ok.......and now I know how to make multiple quoted responses....I'll do that next time instead of a million little replies to everyone.

Welcome, I've gotten my wife into archery and shooting, I think eventually she will go hunting with me, she enjoys the hunting programs I watch.

Have fun.
