Here's a pic of my small (but all handcrafted) Laguiole collection :
View

Top to bottom :

- Calmels*, traditional with corkscrew and punch, blond horn handles, shepherd's cross, carbon steel ;
- Same but smaller and blade only ;
- Le Berger, black Buffalo horn handles, silver bolsters with Boar head, 440 steel ;
- Polished alu handles with rosewood inserts, 12C27 steel.
- Couttier, inner locking 440 blade (one hand opening), blonde horn handles ;

* Although Laguiole has become a generic name and many manufacturers produce those knives, Pierre-Jean Calmels was the original inventor who opened his cuttlery in 1829 in the small village of Laguiole. The shop still exists and is presently run by the great grandchildren.

I would like to see your collection!

I enjoyed looking at that French site that Gus posted earlier. They have some Beautiful knives(thanks Gus, I learn here everyday)

Just the name, 'Corsican Vendetta knife' is intriguing.
And those 'Pidgeon wing model Laguiole's in Forged Damascus' Wild looking!

Regards, Barry

Sorry for the inconvenience Spim, I did some "house cleaning" in my PhotoPoint albums and forgot to actualize the links. All OK now.

PS : "vendetta" is the Corsican name for family / clan blood feuds. The reason to name a knive like that is evident...
