Interesting!

It's like a smooth blend of the old and modern. Like a Laguiole that a crew member on the Enterprise would carry.
:D

Carl.

That's a bit bling for a Laguiole, I've never seen one like that before. Have you a large collection of them?

Very slick and elegant ! "Forge de Laguiole" makes nice and sturdy Laguioles, like they should be. Awesome spring lock ! Gotta love it.

I meant to take an in hand picture as I always look for them myself but forgot, I'll try and get one.

While I like the look of Laguioles, that particular one, having aluminum scales, I would not have liked the sounds of if described to me, but seeing pics of it is another matter, it turns out that's quite a lovely looking knife. It looks very elegant, yet looks sturdy enough to be capable of any task it's put up to. But, that describes French knives in general, I think. It's always amazing to see how the culture that makes a knife tends to show itself in the knives themselves. Lovely knife.

I've been toying with the idea of getting one for years. I don't speak French though and it's hard to find a small one (sub 3 inch blades in UK) on the English speaking websites. Ah for the ignorance of us Brits!

Good observation Carl! :D

Or like a Laguiole designed by Philippe Starck! :D

For those unfamiliar with Mr Starck, here's his famous lemon squeezer

Not really to my own taste, but anything designed by Mr Starck is something of an investment.

Here's a design by his US cousin! :D

At PMEW : speaking French, I could help you out as far as language is implied. My pleasure...
