Is it getting a thumbstud? Looks real good.. I like the machining on the front slab and your choice of blade shape..

It it easy to pluck open without the thumbstud? I had a CRKT Martizelli that had a machined cutout to open the blade and it worked very well.. That my not be a bad option on a design like this..

I like it, but i was wondering just how well this lock type works. I've seen it before and it seems that the scale just barley grabs the blade.

Its called a RIL or Reeve Integral Lock (after Mr Reeve who invented it) or more generically a frame lock. Some may argue this, but a properly executed and fitted RIL is on the top of the list as one of the strongest locks on the market..

I like the handle & clip very much. The corner at the end of the index-finger cut-out seems like it might be a bit sharp on the finger. It's not clear how the blade is to be opened though, is it a one-hand opener, and if so how?

yes it is a 2 hand opener, here in france the law is very "hard" for knive you carry (size, type, lock or no, etc...).
I prefer to do one who the blade is "hard" to open (and impossible with only one hand) to be more "compliant" (after, it depends from policeman...).

for th finger choil , no problem, it didn't cut and only "seem" to be sharp. I'll take another picture more close if you want

Ahhh.. That explains it.. OK, the lack of a thumbstud makes sense.. Looks great man...

That is a fine piece of work, I like the handle and the clip. To me the folder is begging for a thumb stud.
