Hi guys,
I thought I'd post a few pics here to get some opinions on these two just in case some folks hadn't seen them posted elsewhere.

All comment welcomed !

Thanks for looking, Josh

those are some good looking knives. Love the wire inlay action:thumbup::cool:

Josh, I like them all, but the first one pushes my button! I can't get enough stained maple and silver wire inlay!

What thickness is the wire and your source?

Your coming right along Josh, they are both very nice. Maybe you'll get my label in the Kith, with any luck:D

uncleglenny- The swirls are a silver wire inlay. here's a link to a tutorial that will explain the process. http://www.blademag.com/article/silverwireinlaypartone/

Steve- This wire is .014 thick x .085 common sizes to use are .055 x .008 and .055 x .014. This wire was given to me by Stacy Apelt but here are some sources

The correct name is Bezel Wire and it can be found alot of places. This wire was Half Hard which worked pretty well. DON'T get full hard. I've heard others say they prefer Dead Soft also but haven't tried it yet.

Lorien, glad you like it.

John, we'll find out before you know it. Only a couple weeks now :D

Thanks for the comments guys

Josh,it's amazing the way came from a newbie to an accomplished maker in just a short period of time:thumbup:.I can't wait to see what you come up with this time next year:)Regards Butch ps:I hope you get my label:D

Beautiful knives. Have any pictures showing the entire blade of #5, though?? Can't see it all in either pic, though I can pretty much fill in the blanks in my head, it would be nice to see.

goodeyesniper,
Here's a couple more shots. Thought I'd mention that this knife has .025 copper liners also.
Thanks for the input guys!

I've been back to check this out a couple times. The additional pictures were a welcome surprise!

Thanks again for the compliments fellas
Since there's a little interest I'll post a couple more . 1 that shows the copper and a profile of each side to compare the inlay. I'll throw in a shot of #7 also, it's a shadow pattern slip joint that is together and functions great ! Still got some hand work to do on it before the real pics though.
