And I'm pretty happy. My ESEE-4 serrated showed up a few days ago and opening it up I was kind of 'meh.' With the heavy black coating on it I thought overall it was kind of thick and clumsy and set it aside.

I just finished stripping the black coating off and did some sanding and I'm impressed. I think I've found a tough, all around hunting / SHTF blade.

Looks good to me. What type of Kershaw is that in your second photo?

Kuro. It's been stripped and the scales fiddled with. It was also a sleeper for me until I personalized it and now I don't leave home without it.

I had a Kuro and couldn't warm up to it, so I got rid of it. I like the way yours looks though. The scales and the sanded blade finish make it look pretty darn good. :thumbup:

Thanks, the tanto design is a great cutter plus they're cheap so I won't feel too stupid if I lose it.
