Thank you, The Madrone burl is being a bit hard to finish as any discoloration of the finish shows gray. I do need to work on my photos. Still way to dark.

You can lighten and enhance them with Adobe Photoshop. I always get poor pics. That is why I post so few pics.

Nice looking knives  I like that Alabama blend damascus.

Try some good ol' natural lighting, overcast or partly cloudy is the only way I can get a hamon to show with my little camera.

Nice knives, but mediocre photos - which are easy to improve. It looks like you are using incandescent (regular) lighting, but your camera is 'looking' for an outdoor type spectrum (which is why they all look kind of yellow). You will get better results with 'daylight' spectrum bulbs, which are available at Home Depot. I have used the Philips 'Natural Light' 65W incandescent indoor flood bulbs, which come in a blue colored box. Once you get these set up, then you'll want to read up on your digital camera and find a way to set the white balance. With a combination of the right lights and setting the white balance on your camera, you will get much better photos.

As suggested, you can also try to correct the white balance in photoshop afterwards, or take the photo outside - but sometimes it is easier to get a indoor setup that is repeatable.

Thanks I have a light box with a thin white plastic cover (trash bag) and I put 2 500 watt quartz lights on it. I never thought about the spectrem of the light. I will try you suggestion. Thanks. I have photoshop put not very good with it I quess.

You might want to try Picassa -- it's no where near as powerful an editor as photoshop (it's primarily a photo organizer with many bells and whistles), but it's very easy to use and "I feel lucky" frequently helps a lot. The fill light adjustment also helps with darkish photos.

Tried Picasa as suggested an it is slick. Here are the results.
