Sweet. I really like that. I especially like the forward slant on the grain, it makes the blade look like its sort of "moving forward" towards its foe.

Jason

PS The mokume is tasteful too.

WOW! Now that's a real eye-popper!
Beautiful materials and that's a great job of bringing them all together and making them look their best. I like this knife a lot. You did a bang up job on it Laredo!

All the best,
Mike U.

Laredo,

Truly unique, the jade looks really nice, but the overall design and materials combined make this one OUTSTANDING.

Great looking sub hilt fighter! Looks great all the way around and some of the best looking cable I've seen. How many times did the choil get you?

Laredo, that thing is smokin'. You should be very proud of yourself. I love the blade especially!

Well...When you first said you wanted to do a Jade handle I was really having a hard time visualizing it. It looks like you did a great job with it.

Laredo, That creation is just absolutely eye popping! Where he heck could a guy go from there, being already at the top? By the way, how did you end up polishing the jade? Definitely over the top, guy!

Hey, thanks everybody for the nice comments, I truely appreciate them.

Lets see, there were a couple questions in there;

Terry- The gaurds and stuff are mokume, basicsally fused copper and nickel silver. They were ground, filed, sanded, filed, sanded, filed, sanded, and then buffed. :) Reminded me how much of a love hate relationship I have with hand work. Even my 5 year old daughter helped me for a while until the RugRats came on.;)

Ray- The choil got me alot! Damn thing, I finally put a piece of electrical tape on it. I think I am scared for life though.:grumpy:

John- I took the easy way out. I buffed it to a satin kinda finish and then just waxed it. Kinda lame, yeah, but I had had enough with this one. If she ever comes out of the display case and goes up for sale, I will diamond polish it, plus fix a couple other little things. But for being relagated as a wall hanger, I think the wax will be ok.

Man I hope I haven't peaked yet. That is a great compliment, but hopefully I have something left in me. But it wouldn't suprise me if this is it. Quick out of the gates, but no stamina.;) Maybe I should just hang it all up now, and end on a high note.

Thanks again guys.

I wouldn't quit if I were you. That has got to be one of the nicest cable blades I have ever seen! Usually, cable blades have visible welding flaws(and, your's may too, but they sure dont show up in this pic). Keep at it; you're doing great.

Very nice!

Always intriguing to me, how we can take a once-flexible chunk of cable and transform it into a tough, rigid knife.

Kinda hard to come up with anything original after that! :D Beautiful knife Laredo, absolutely awesome. Hope I can make something that kickass one day!

Dave

Absolutely stunning. took the wind right out of my sails...
