Just finished reconditioning this one, (picture one and two). Third picture is of the knife as I received it. Last picture shows knife during reconditioning. This one was brought home after WWII, put on a shelf in a garage and forgotten. After the original owner passed away it was found and I was lucky enough to acquire it. I paid $12 for it. The sheath is new and made by me.

Fanstastic work!! I have always wanted to restore one of these old leather handled fixed blades. Thanks for the inspiration:D:thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you Gevonovich. These old knives are too nice to let them deteriorate away. Built like a tank with a great heat treatment on the 1095 steel. They don't make them like this any more, at least not for $12. Got another I'm reconditioning soon, even nicer blade, paid $13 for it.

I agree, these oldies were built very well and you can't beat the price. I do see them from time to time. The additional bonus is getting to bring it back to life and enjoying the work. The sheath is very nice as well.

Looking forward to seeing the next one:thumbup::thumbup: Maybe even a few work in progress pics with some instruction. I know I would tune in;)

Thanks guys. I do love working on these WWII classics. Will do on the next one Gevonovich. Looking forward to it.
