So that was the best I could do at a knifemaking themed title lol. :)

This tiny bundle of joy is what I'm actually referring to:

Avery Renee' Collier
Born: Sunday 11/6/11 at 2:14am
2lbs 4oz, 13" long
28 weeks to the day

About 10 hours after birth:

Seeing my baby girl for the first time:

These were taken Wednesday:

And one unique shot I took using an old mono-chromatic overlay with a 2nd sepia overlay...that is my fiance's engagement ring btw, and she has small hands.

She has a long way to go, but has proven she is a fighter and she's fiesty as hell! My fiance is with her, 230 miles away at Kosair Children's Hospital. I got to see her every day from Sunday to Thursday :), now I have to get back to work and completing our move (if having a baby wasn't enough stress lol).

Just wanted to share in my happiness! :D

GrizzlyBear,

Avery looks very strong for a little one. I have a son who was born at 26 weeks, at 1 lb 13 oz, he's now 17 and almost 6 feet tall.

I pray that your days in the hospital will go by quickly without any incident and that she grow quickly.

Ken

Thanks guys!

Most of the folks we have spoke with who had premies said they got to go home before they would have been full term. I am really really hoping for this! It's amazing the amount of love you can have for someone you barely even know.

I'll tell you this, I'm 5'11", 320lbs and built like a brahma bull....but when I heard her tiny little cry when they stuck her foot to get blood....I broke down in tears. :)

woot!

I thought mine was a peanut at 5#-11oz. Your's is a handful, literally! Best wishes and prosperity for you and her!

That's awesome Grizzly!!! It is a life altering experience for the better. I can't imagine a happier time than when both of mine were born. When my little girl cried for the first time, it was like glass breaking inside my chest. Your little girl is something special my friend. Protect with all you have and cherish her always.
