Thanks Mace. Its a lot like the Australian lace wood, but seems a bit harder. Takes a nice finish....

Nice, I have a love/hate relationship with wire rope damascus, I love it in a finished knife, I hate forging it! Looks like you nailed it, nice overall design too, looks comfy in the hand.

Thanks guys! I really like working with it too. It performs well and I like that snakeskin pattern you get. Especially when you put it with a wood grain similar to it. These pics, dont do it justice. I think this is my favorite so far...

Great looking knife Ed! I'm really taking a shine to cable lately. Are you forging the cable by hand or with a press?

Thanks again guys. Matt I made this at J's Neilson's shop. Once I got it twisted and hammer welded, he let me use his little giant to draw it out into a bar. Gotta love them big toys. I've got a press now, just haven't had much time to play with it.
Right now, I'm in the process of building a 24x24 pole barn for a garage/hot shop so my press, forge and anvils have a place (other than out in the yard) to live.
On my way out now to dig in the dirt. Got holes drilled with a dangle drill, but theres a lot of hand work to do to make them right. Hopefully setting my posts this week. I'll post when I get something worth taking pics of.

You know I like it Ed. She came out sweet!

Next time down we'll work on pix. No offense intended but, your knives have gotten too nice not to have photos to show them off right.
My 2 cents.

Man that's beautiful! I love the beefwood and would never have thought to use a palm spacer - perfect choice.

Brian, funny you should ask. Its over on the for sale forum right now.
Thanks J. I know I need help on the picture front. This kinfe lookes 100% better in real life.
Ddalverson: I really like palm end grain. I did a small neck knife with end grain scales, but haven't been able to find a big enough piece to do it again. I do like is as a spacer though.

Very well done Happy! Classic profile, nice sheath, great finish, I think you know what you're doing!
