I'm pretty stoked with these two, not so much because of the knives but because the boxes are in perfect, from the factory condition. One of them appeared to have never even been opened from the look of the way the tissue wrapping the knife and sheath looked when I opened the box. The other had been opened and taken out so the tissue showed that, but the boxes and knives themselves are flawless. I date them from sometime in '78 through '80 from Joe's info:
"Group 2 1973-1980 Blade stamped BUCK, XXX, U.S.A. Stamp is right side up, read with the point up, as it is on today's knives. Guard has two micarta and two aluminum spacers. Pommel has two micarta spacers and one aluminum spacer. Holster style, or Flap over sheath still used and the knife originally came in a two piece yellow bow but the switch to a one piece yellow box probably started around 1978."
I'm keeping them wrapped up and stored where the boxes can't get marked up or squashed. These aren't great pictures but will do until I take better ones.
