You may remember the big bear jaw friction folder I made last year, well here is the latest version.
Scales are lower bear jaw with elk antler bolsters, and a textured copper band with rawhide wraps(which is difficult to do on a folder!)pivot washers are wrought iron nail heads. The blade is Chad Nichols random damascus, reforged by me and has heavy random rasp forge texture, and deep etched.Liners and fileworked backspacer are mild steel. The gun holster style sheath is covered in rawhide and has a bear tooth dangle. This is a BIG folder, with and OAL of 11 1/2" from blade tip to curl. Thanks to Coop for the great images!
For some reason I can't get Coop's links to work. For now here are attachments and maybe Coop will help me out with full size images.

That looks fantastic! It has sort of that goblin folder look to it.

that's friggin awesome.

Thanks guys!Ben,when I made the first one my first thoughts was to add some glass eyes, scale carving,ect..and call it Gremlin Folder instead of Goblin, and I still might do a future version like that at some point!

That is a special piece John! I'm liking it all!

I will be posting my first primitive friction folder soon.

You keep inspiring!

VERY cool work on the knife and sheath John. The textures you achieve really give a great "period" look.

John just plain outstanding. When you made the first one for me I told you you would never make a nicer one but you sure put me In my place. I would never give up mine but I would love to see them as a set at my place. Here is a pict . of the first one. KT

(My bad for supplying John with bad links to start.)[/SIZE]

We all have our aptitudes, and John's is so cleverly shown in his relic work. Like he said, this is a MANLY sized folder. Nothing subtle about it.

All the little dangles and beads and fittings on the folder and sheath serve a visual fulfillment to the conceived history of this piece. One wonders what spells they are attempting to cast.

Immediately I recognized I could not capture the essence of this piece in a single rectangle. Not even two.

Thank you, John! Good stuff.
