How is this not awesome?

Meanwhile can somebody tell me how and why this was classified as a machete? When you hear "machete" it conjures images of the 1/8" thin floppy bladed $10 machetes you can get at Wal-Mart or the local hardware store. This thing instead is thick, tough, and built similarly to the BK9.

One of my favorite kukris .
It is a great chopper. It is not a machete,it can works like it. But do you need more ?
Enjoy it !

Basically, it's a machete because they say it is.

I thought about getting one but after my last camping trip where I didn't really use most of the choppers I brought, and didn't even bring all of mine, I think I'll hold off. I might even thin out my pile-o-blades a bit.

Something about the rockwell being low enough to be a machete in that 1085 steel. The 1085 I have used from KA-BAR took a very keen edge easily, and was very forgiving in performance. Basically 1085 is a type of spring steel, and used is these heavy duty chopper configurations from KA-BAR it just performs really well. The thickness on these is somewhere around 3/16ths, and thats what the BK9 is. Another difference being is the tang construction on the Kuhk is not full like the BK9, but in this configuration I do not foresee that as a problem. If you are going to get a production Kuhkri this is probably the one to get!
