Finished this one the other day....it is prety wild...call Weehawk Tanto style..inspired by the Benchmade balisong with similar shaped blade.
1/4" thick S30V 7" double ground blade...12.5" overall lenght. The top edge is sharpened.

Man, your imagination never stops. Yeah crazy cool... :eek: :thumbup:

Amazing design. I think it is actually very useful. There'd be some great chopping weight in the blade even on a 7inch blade. You're not about to break the tip either... (what tip ? :D )

Question... did you texture the flats on the blade or is that mill scale ?

It's great to see someone like you, Jens, doing somethin' that might look weird, but that is surely effective.
 
Very nice knife, Jens, but I really think it needs a guard of some type, particularly with that wedge shaped handle. Then, you could wail away without worry :D
 
There is russian MA expert Kochergin (he train all this specnaz etc...), he developed similar knife NDK-17 with wide front. Concept is to make wide chopping like woond, but using pry motion instead which bit harder to block.

His knife however different then this one.

So it is not crazy - just require special technic to use.

Ya a small guard would have been a plus on this one RJ! It do have a very secure grip though with the textured G10.
