The scales are Gabon Ebony over mokume. And the liners are titanium anodized a bronze/gold color.

The Specs:

As always your feedback is most appreciated.

I see that you are specializing in these folders. How do they sell?
That is a great knife. About the mokume bolsters, what do you weld them at?

Looks great! I like the addition of the bolsters over the all-wood of the other ones. I'd add a thumbnail nick (how do they do that, anyway?) and be all set. I wouldn't bother with a thumb-bob for one-handed opening on a knife like that, myself. The nick is classy, IMHO.

I think that knife would look great with just a plain titanium bolster, too, honestly. Looks nice!

Thanks guys for the replies.

One day I will add a nail nick, but probably never a thumb stud. I just always forget to put one in before heat treat. :( But I think most guys use a dovel tail cutter on their mill to add the nick, and some use a bremel. If I tried it with a dremel, I would just make a mess.

Peter - They don't sell worth poopy. I have three or four for sale and they don't move. Maybe my prices are too high, but I have had the Damascus and Carbon fiber folder for sale forever at $300 and it won't move. Heck it was easier selling that Viking Dagger for $1300 than a folder for $300. Go figure, I must me doing something wrong.

Peter - Check out my website under "knife info" I give an explanation of how I make mokume there. It is not too hard to do, just need to get the materials really clean and then get a nice even heat on it in the forge with out going too hot to have a meltdown. I usually see fusion around 1800 to 1900 °F.

Thanks again guys for your compliments, I appreciate it.

sweeeeeet looking piece

I do see a problem though

where's your Mark??? :D

Dan, my neighbor yells at me for that too. I just haven't had any small stencils made that I can use on my folders. Plus I m debating about changing my makers mark. I think it would be better if I get away from the shield dohicky and do my first initial, last name, and city/state.

Better to change it now than when I get famous....heheh...

:) go for it.. I'll be right behind you.. :)

Hey Sean, I see the problem- you can't get to the available section! Anyway, have you gone to a knife show, cuz I see nothing wrong with those knives (othere than the fact that they have class and can be used.).

Beautiful work, Sean! Yes on Dan's suggestion on the mark, too. I can't imagine making a knife like that and not having your name on it.

So where go you get the copper and nickel silver sheets?

Larry

The best place I have found is monster slayer:

Monster slayer

a 6 x 36 sheet of 24 gage copper is around $8.25

and a 6 x 36 sheet of 24 gage nickel silver is around $10.75

Have them cut the sheets in half (at no extra charge) to save on shipping. Theyare located in New Mexico.

Hope that helps.
