This just got finished up today. I am falling in love with it more and more as we go along, and I think it is going to become my neck knife. I'm not sure yet.

It is a hair under 7 inches overall and a hair under a 3.5 inch blade.

Lets see, what did I try to do special on this knife? anyone have a guess?

Jimping is fun. I kinda like it, too. credit for making me actually think about it goes to Greg Haile, who graced the littler hammer-in I was at with his presence ;)

This blade was pretty simple to make, and i was really happy with the grind lines. I'm no Ray Laconico, but they are orders of magnitude better than my first attempts.

It almost has a little bit of a hawkbill influence to it, and looks like one when you first see it. the bottom is flat, though.

I will be recommending wharnies to many people looking to make a first knife. they are really easy, and a lot of fun.

thanks for looking,
Steven

Looking good Steven. Was nice to meet you yesterday. Keep on going, you are most definitely on the right track.

Go Steven Go!! Lookin good buddy, it was great meeting you, and those ribs, and atomic buffalo turds that Chuck BBQd were SLOBBERISHHHISSSS!! Chuck kept the traeger grill, and the forge the perfect temp all day absolute treat!!! I beat Brett to the table but had to run back for my camera, those tasted as good as they look!! GHaile

the blade is pretty much up to 1500 grit, and i am still trying to decide what to do with the handle. probably a bit of walnut, but I don't know.

a dull hacksaw :) all you have to do is be careful with how deep you go, how far apart you make them, and make sure that they are where your thumb wants them.
