I just got this giant one-piece knife in the mail! It looks like a Sable (IV?), but I've come up short when I have attempted to research it. OAL is a little over 18", it's 9 of 13, and made in the USA. The only knives made by CRK that were insanely large were the LE Broadswords made about 10 years ago. I'm sure someone can tell me the story behind this thing. Should I send it back to Idaho for a birth card reissue, new KG GunKote, and a new edge?

Shoot me a PM or post if I need more info to help you help me!

That's bad ass...I'm not too knowledgeable on the OPKs, but they're a few guys here that would know. I'd prob send it in to make it brand new again.

The knife is called the Sable. Much larger than the Sable I. The Sable had a blade length of over 11" and total length of 18". The sable had the 9" blade common to the Sable I, Shadow I, Jereboam, Karathu I, etc. Great knife and very collectible as I have only seen numbered versions up to #13. Congrats on a great score.....!!! CRK did many very short runs of the OPK. For instance, I have a shadow IV with sawteeth. Not a common model, but short runs were made of various designs and styles.

A very cool OPK. Our friend and Mod Esav has a similar piece. :)

Try email them.
Pretty sure they are happy to see an old friend and spa it up for you.

Great find!
