Very nice. Since you have been searching for one for some time, you obviously know that they weren't produced in huge quantities or for a very long time with the bone covers. And that examples in near pristine condition are very uncommon today. Good find. Congratulations.

Very scarce find Ken, well done. Now we both need the original box's they came in, back in about 1960, to display in our collections....they are even harder to find...I looked at buying that one as well, she is the 'real deal' with the swedge up and over to the third last matchstrike in the nail nique plus the correct number of strikes....the only issue is a previous owner cleaned/buffed her to "near new"....I wish they would leave the character/patina built up over some 53 years as original.....I have found the bone 8OT far more scarce to find than the bone 2OT from the same period....Hoo Roo

Possibly the stockman found itself most useful to the original buyers over the 2OT and thus were used up in larger percentages. Just a thought.

I have always had a passion for the 881,880 and 8OT Schrade knives.
As I have used the same old 881 since 1971; my son likes the 8OT and Buck 301s.
I believe the 34OT was Schrade’s “Number One Seller” over the years. (not too heavy)
I do not like the 2OT or 3OTs and would have never used one (too big and heavy)
If I needed a knife, back in the mid- sixty’s; the Buck 301 Schrade made, would be the knife for me.

This is one of the Schrade knives, made for Buck around 1967.
