Here's the knife I picked up in Solingen, Germany, during the knifeshow. It's a Hillknives (Albert & Frans van den Heuvel, Nederland) from 1991, engraved by Eduard Vos.

Patrick,

Great knife. Albert and Frans are talented knifemakers and also great guys to talk to. They have their shop exactly 100 meters from where I was born.

How was Solingen? Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend this year.

I'll try to post a review... I definitely love this show. Just to name a few makers that had a table : Dietmar Kressler, Owen Wood, Wolgang Loerchner and a special Jurgen Steinau exhibition. I'll post something.

I like EVERYTHING about that knife. Nice design, exquisite engraving and fine sheath.

Congratulations!

Peter

Just beautiful Pat, great score... Looking forward to your review of the show. At moment I only know of Kresseler & Spitzl would be interesting to know others

Wow! that knife looks to be in pristine condition.

Especially for being 17 years old.

Very nice score!

I love everything about the knife EXCEPT the "Hand made by" part. I think it detracts from the blade and the name of the maker could have been incorporated into the engraving somewhere or a very elegant cursive stamp or engraving could have been used. Personal preference I guess. I think the knife is otherwise very nice.
