Hi All,
There's a trail at a nearby park that I love to run; I'd say it is a moderate horse/bike/hike trail, with some rolling hills. I've tried several pairs of shoes to run in, but it seems that I end up with blisters in one place or another. I've tried a wide range of socks, including Thorlos Trail Runners, Smartwoll RBX cushion, and some synthetics from Asics and Starter.
I had my hopes up for the The North Face Vapor Lights that I bought for a steal at a nearby sporting goods store, but darn if I didn't end up with a blister on the arch of my left foot. It looks like maybe the insole is coming up on the side and rubbing it. I may not give up on them yet- maybe I can find some good insoles for them.
Anyway, for Father's Day my wife let me pick out another pair of shoes and after reading good things about the Montrail Hardrock Wides, I decided I'd give them a shot. A raving review can be found here:

I'm wearing them around the house now to check the fit and so far, they seem great, but I'm almost scared to try them on the trail in case I find something wrong with them!
Just wanted to share my latest gear, and also does anyone know what causes blisters on the arches of your foot? I had an older pair of Nike trail runners that did the same thing but on the other foot.
