Thanks for looking, and all comments welcome.

Elegant and beautiful. A work of art I would say. Very nice lines and the guard with the black spacers, really looks great next to the blade.

Phillip, thats really awesome. One day I will have one of your knives in my collection, I hope!!!

VERY nice Phillip. Has that "clean" look and that etch on the damascus shows exceptional contrast.

I have two recurve knives that Phillip made in D2 and his work is top notch.I teach Wilderness Survival classes in North Georgia and his knives always out perform any other knives I have used.
Thanks,
Michael

Phillip - I'm a big fan of your stuff and have a lot of respect for your body of work.

First time I looked at this one I just wasn't feeling it, but couldn't really put my finger on why. But I think I have a handle on it now - and it's the handle.

Bearing in mind that proportion can be one of THE most difficult things to judge from a photo, I'm finding the handle a little too skinny overall - particularly toward the butt. A little more flare out at the back end would help to visually balance the width of the blade and the fairly long guard.

Just my opnion, of course.

Overall execution from a fit and finish standpoint looks to be excellent. And your damascus, as always, looks great.

Fit and finish looks spectacular. It's so very clean and precise. Nice work.

I have to agree with Roger though in that the handle looks a little light in comparison to the guard and blade.

The damascus blade looks great in that twist pattern, Phillip

mohd.

Roger and stuart, I kind of thought the same thing until I took a look at the dimensions once again. if that blade is 3/16 thick, 5 3/8 long, then the handle is plenty beefy enough. From what I can tell Phillip makes beefy handles and I don't think this is an exception.

Keep up the good work, Phillip!

Sorry for taking so long to get back to this thread.

Roger and Stuart, I agree completely that the handle would look better a with more flare to the butt. It was supposed to be, but there were some cracks in the wood that had to be ground away.... As it is, it still feels good in the hand, and is probably my favorite hunter.

Thanks everyone for your comments. :)
