Damn, we're gonna make a knifemaker outta you yet! ;) :D

Kiddin, of course. That is awesomeness incarnate, my friend. :)

Thanks, fellas!

Yes, Karl, I am pretty happy with this one, though I still see things I can do better on the next one.

That is not a knife, that is one bad a$$ sword.

Any dimensions please?

Certainly:

Blade is 16-5/8" long

Handle adds exactly 5" more

Blade is 300 layers of 1095/15n20 butterfly pattern damascus.

Blade is 2-1/8" at the widest

Guard is O1/L6 opposing twist. About 150 layers

Pommel is straight pattern 1084/15n20. I think about 350 layers.

Handle is desert ironwood burl

Spacers are silicon bronze with file work. This is the first knife I've used file worked spacers on. The only knife I've used file work on the spine is stuck in a tree in my back yard. LOL

Balance point is 3 to 3-1/2" from the guard.

I hope that some day, far in the future, I might be able to do something a quarter as nicely crafted as that. Truly a work of art. I can picture a roman legion gifting something like that to a particularly favored commander who was retiring. The men I mean, Rome itself wouldn't have bothered, but the men might have felt it was a fitting gift for a worthy man.

Phillip, you just keep coming with greater and greater work. Fantastic, piece from tip to pommel. Love the spacers and might try something like that. Its about all I have a chance of making anywhere as nice as the rest.

I cannot recall a better cutting tool from anybody - it takes a lot to wow me and I am wow'd for sure. Stunning work Philip - and the fact I need to ask 'how much' means I cannot afford it, but I'm sure it will go to a good home and perhaps one day ....

WOW! That is beutifull! I hope to one day make something that nice. Very, very clean, and I love the way the file worked spacers are done.

Very nice, indeed! When will these be available at Sports Authority? ;)

I sense a resurgence in interest in gladiator training coming as a result of this...

That grind on that pattern damascus is just amazing! The rest of the knife fully lives up to it.

Beautiful work.

You are a perfectionist, and that's a good thing. Stunning knife!
