Wel, I have been flying knifeless, but just before I took off to Calgary Moday AM I grabbed my Wave to use the wire cutter, screwdriver and knife on a minor repair and without thinking put it in my light jacket (North face fleece---zips into Mountain light). Heavy jacket inside carry on bag. The airport was warmer a few hours later and I had taken my fleece off and had my car keys in one pocket along with a flashlight (Surefire Exec --key chain was micra less, but had keys, traser glow ring, photon III). Both went through the scanner. En route, I decided to zip the fleece into the shell as Calgary was cooler. Naturally, I emptied the pockets and had to carefully pocket the now illegal tool of choice.

It returned home via FedEx.

I hate those terrorists for one more reason, even if it pales compares to the rest.

Hey, next time you come up you can borrow some of my stuff so you're not walking around empty handed :)

It's B.S. but this is going to be the way of the future. I don't think we are likely to see these new rules get any better in the future. It's a sign of the times and I hate it.

One of our S-D students told us in class that she had flown with her standard size SAK a few days previously. She was even picked out for a "random search," which failed to find her knife.

Just another example of how "tight security" won't quite keep sharp things off planes.

Meanwhile, I'm sure the terrs have other plans in mind, dealing with areas we aren't focused on...

First guns, now knives. In 5-10 years no one will even remember having been able to have a knife on a plane.
