I was talking to a friend the other day who is left handed. he was talking about any knife with a single bevel blade. When he uses one, he has to contort his hand in order to cut what he wants without cutting what he doesnt. Sheaths are another thing, most are made for right handed people. There are a few gun companies that will make conversions for left handed people. I know of a family owned hardware store here in ohio that caters to lefties when it comes to scissors since most family members are left handed. I have always catered to lefties ever since making a custom for a friends son so why cant some of these companies do the same. Its not that hard to do and they might find out there's a good market for left hand products.

I am left handed, and living in a righthanded world is full of challenges. Wouldn't it be nice if there were some left handed tools such as skill saws and hand files. Hand files are angled for right handed use. For left hand use I hold the file from the other end, and made a holder for that purpose to make it easier.

Most people in the world are right-handed, so most businesses make their products for right-handers. However, if you look, most knife companies (I know Benchmade does) make knives that are ambidextrous. Now granted, they may not be completely converted for ambidextrous use, but you can open and close the knife with either hand, usually move the clip to the other side, etc.

emerson will ocassionally produce a line of lefthanded knives. Chris Reeves does the same thing with the Sebenza

I'm left handed and prefer CRK knives because they are a good folder and they always make left hand dedicated framelocks. Another choice would be the axis lock from Benchmade. The unfortunate reality is that the left hand market is too small to justify the investment to make products for lefties. I'm grateful for that because there are all kinds of great right handed knives and being a lefty really cuts down on my impulse purchases.;)

i second that

I'm a lefty for 99% of things, however, I've learned to be ambidexterous in several things. One of those things is knives. I open and use most of my folders with my right hand. It's just one of those things that I've learned to do out of neccesity. In a righty predominant world, I've got to suck it up and adapt.
