My Leuku... not yours... mine!:p

There are two reasons why I kept this one for myself:
1. It was forged from "unknown" spring steel during a demonstration I did at an artisan gathering in The Fortress of Louisbourg, Cape Breton, NS.
2. The final fit and finish didn't meet my customer standard

The benefit of having rejected this one is that... I reeeeeally like it.:D:thumbup: And want to see what this elk antler handle will take. I made the sheath to slip into a sash or belt and lash securely with the leather strap.

Spring Steel(unknown)
15" OA length
10" blade
5" handle
full distal taper from 3/16" at the ricasso
Elk handle, Copper ferule, thru-tang with peened steel butt cap and turkshead.
Leather sheath, sash carry.

If that is a reject... That is sweet, but the brush waki is just awesome. Let us know how the Elk holds up.

If that was in my hands, I would still be outside clearing my trails! I stabilize the pith in my elk/deer handles, and so far they have been holding up well, but I am not nearly as tough on my blades as Rick. Hoping for success with yours.

If you have a fairly beefy thru tang inside that elk antler(I am sure you do), I would say, from lots of experience with elk antler, that you will give out long before it does. It's really tough stuff in my experience.
Really cool knife Rick, I like your style:thumbup:

That is very good looking Rick. Love the shape and flow.

That is the one from your table spread that really caught my eye. Nice work Rick.

Rick , Ya gotta love critiqueing your own knives and making the judgement call that lets you actually own one of your own. Great looking knife and I'm sure it wiould have stood up to the public scrutiny. See you in Atlanta

I love a big bellied Leuko, and that looks great! Would love to get a tactile feel. Probably my second favourite leuko of all time, only because it hasn't been in hand yet!
