Okay so I started have a likeness for knives around November of last year after handling a USMC Kabar and ever since then I have been fascinated by knives and they're usefulness! Well i started to purchase some higher end knives like Benchmade and Spyderco. I bought a Sage 1 and fell in love then I bought a BM 943 and loved that one too! Well here's my problem. At the moment, i should not be buying knives right now. (Need to save a bit, my decision) but i need to choose, my brother, my father, or my girlfriend?
My little brother (16) doesn't "like" knives but doesn't hesitate to ask for one. I urge him to get one on a daily basis because me and him work together at fast food place and the tape isn't easy to rip off the boxes. He always asks for my Sage 1 and me being kind always let him borrow it. Well i kinda want to get him a Spyderco Manix 2 or a Benchmade Griptillian. His birthday is on the 25th so i have some time to think. I figure i'll buy him one to see how good it is to have one! So which one out of those two? He like the thumbhole A LOT!.
My other problem. My passion and love for knives is kinda growing on my girlfriend and she seems to love my 943. I always see her flick it open with the axis lock with joy and makes me feel good inside. Well i kinda want to get her a knife also. Id figure a blue or Pink Griptillain so she has a decent knife in a nice color with the axis lock because she loves that lock! Then she caught site of an Spyderco Endura. She loves the Purple, Pink, or Blue. Blue is her favorite color but she wants me to surprise her. So what are your thoughts on those choices and what color should i choose. She loves the axis lock but like the thumbhole of a spyderco. So i figure a Griptillian HG with the sheep's foot blade? I dont know.
Last but not least is my father...my father says i have no use for knives but in reality i use them at work every single day. (Its not always taking orders, or making burgers) But he see's my point and tolerates him. Well the other day I found a slip-joint in his truck and asked him about it. He told me he would like to use a strong knife at work but he cant carry that one because it doesn't have a clip. He's a construction worker and uses tools all the time including knives. Hes gone through many cheap ones but i kinda wanted to get him something for fathers day. Coming up soon! i was thinking a Spyderco PM or Millie but what do you guys think? Can it take the abuse? I think the Millie would be good?
I plan on getting all of them a knife as a gift eventually but I'm trying to see what knife to get who, AND who should i pick 1st. I feel like my father but then again my brother. I dont know. What do you guys think? Any advice will be gladly appreciated!
