....Kings that is.

Here's my little herd of Cattle King Jumbo Stockmen so far.

For left to right:

Case 6.5375 (2005) Bonestag in CV

Case 6375 (1995) Chestnut Bone in CV

Case 6375 (2000) Red Bone in CV

Case 3375 (2000) Yellow Delrin in CV

Queen #49 Cocobolo in D2

Camillus Black Sawcut Delrin in 420HC

Hen & Rooster 383 Green Bone in High Carbon

Small but growing collection.

Real nice. I'm a big fan of the stockman pattern myself. How do you find that the 420HC compares to the CV in regards to ease of sharpening and edge holding?

I don't own any Case in 420HC, but the Camillus one I do own is harder to sharpen, bordering on annoying and doesn't hold an edge nearly as well as Case's CV to me.

Conspicuously missing, a Shrade Old Timer Stockman, like the 34OT or 8OT. Regardless, that's a great little set of knives.

Best Wishes,
Bob

Because this is a collection of Jumbo 4 1/4 inch Stockman, I haven't seen a Schrade in that pattern yet...did they make one?

Yes, Schrade made a stockman at least 4 and 1/4 inches long. I think it was the 885, it had round bolsters. I figured the 420HC in that Camillus would be a little tougher to sharpen than the CV.

Oops. Guess I missed the common theme of the knives in your photo.

The Schrade full-sized stockmans (8OT, 89OT, etc.) were 3-7/8" closed, so over a quarter-inch shy of your criterion.

The mid-size stockman patterns from Schrade (34OT, 33OT etc.) were 3-1/4" closed.

As far as I know, Schrade did make some 4 1/4 and even larger stockmen, though the largest one was made in the UK, when Schrade owned I-XL.

Edited: I don't know how I missed Bob W's last post, yes the 858OT lumberjack 4 1/2 inches closed, the large I-XL was I believe 5 inches closed. Here's another thread from the Schrade Collectors forum:

Cool...gives me one to hunt for! I had never seen a Schrade that large, I have an 80OT that is 4 inches I believe, kinda rough that I found at a flea market for $10.00, clean but the main blade has been sharpened ALOT, only about 80% left.

858OT...the hunt begins!

Let me know if you find an extra. They are few and far between on eBay.

Yeah, I just jumped over and did a search.....nothing!

May be the first time I did a search and got "0" results.
