Manufacture: Outcast, Model: Fishcat 9 sold as "Sportsman's 9" through Sportsman's warehouse (which meant abouit $250.00 less expensive than one marked with the Outcast markings). Oars are nine foot Carlisles, 10 pound pyramid anchor, motor is Minn-Kota 30 pound of thrust.

Now that I have more vacation time I am hoping to get this out more than once a year. I launched it in the Boardman marina just off of the Columbia river to play with the boat/motor combination to see how she would perform and then I got braver and took her up river on the Columbia staying 50-150 yards off shore.

So since she will take me upriver on the Columbia all of you west of Boardman don't have to worry about sightings of a pontoon riding Sasquatch in your area.

I am planning to take her out Thursday (federal holliday for me as the 4th falls on Saturday) to the mouth of the Umatilla and fish the line where the currents from the Umatilla and Columbia converge in hopes of bonking a salmon or steelhead.

Well I took her out on the 2nd of Jul and all worked well except for the fact that I got skunked fishing.... went home with no fish or bites.

Very true, you get your feet wet unless you put them on the foot pegs (and then they still have a tendency to get a little wet), or wear waders.

Nice rig. Looks great for getting into the skinny water and weeds on inland lakes too.

Let me know how it handles in the wind?

with the motor it is managable in the wind, rowing can be a little tough as the wind tends to push these around a bit. Also if you anchor out you might have a little trouble with the wind. However these are pretty responsive agile craft.

It has a 400 lb capacity for weight and I am right at 300 lbs, add the motor and battery and fishing gear we'll call it 365 lbs and I am only drafting about eight inches of water.

I've seen those, they are really neat. It looks like you could get into the tough to get into spots. 30 lbs of thrust with that little rig should move it along at a fairly brisk pace. Have fun.

Looks like fun, but you must be a lot braver than I am to take it out on the Columbia :D
