My little pocket PAL

Hi all,
Whilst trolling the bay I.came across an item I'd been looking for, a small gentleman's folder for black tie events. A bolsterless MoP penknife!

The covers are beautifully iridescent, my crummy iPhone photos don't really do it justice. It has a strong snap and what I believe to be a nearly unused blade. Made by PAL in Germany.

I won the auction of course, and it arrived today. I had expected a small pen, and that most certainly is what I got!

With my yeller peanut for comparison.

I love it for its scales and the size isn't a problem, though SWMBO had a bit of a chuckle at a 6'4" 300lb security guard with such a tiny knife.

It now sits in my watch pocket and will for a couple of days, a tradition of sorts of mine for new knives. I'm not fond of the phrase "sheeple" but this little pocket pal certainly won't raise any alarms with the non-knife loving public.

The hunt continues for a (slightly larger) equal end penknife for my tux, but this is a real gem that already has pride of place in my collection. Feel free to show photos of your favourite tiny pocket pals!

Very nice. The beauty of MOP is hard to capture

Wow, cute little thing!

It actually makes a peanut look like a folding machete.

I know what you mean, the peanut feels big in my hand after holding the little one. That said she's not good for much besides opening packages, which is what she'll do come Christmas Day! The peanut is still very much more versatile.

I have heard knifemakers say it is sometimes harder to make small folding knives than large ones, don't know if that is true but if so that would be a handful. Nice knife:thumbup:

Nice little find.
Another cute little knife of this sort that once caught my eye is the Boker Medallion in damascus (same exact pattern, single spear -or pen - blade on an equal end frame). The pattern fits my idea of a tuxedo knife :) unfortunately, it is also too small for my taste. A thin, 3" (more or less) version in an elegant handle material would look great. Nothing on the market though (at least that I'm aware of).
Anyway, these knives, although not really practical in use, are very nice to see :)

Thanks Fausto! I had a look at the Boker, in truth I'm looking for something along the lines of an Eisenhower 2-blade about 2" long , but as you say there isn't much on the market (and SWMBO would kill me if I spent over $140 on a little pen knife) but this little one is neat and I think it'll do just fine as my gift unzipper on Christmas Day.
