Dave.. yup, it's bearing for the pivot..
like my wife would say it's the coolest little
thingie...
Allan, I think I's the only way to go
with the ball bearings
at about $6.00
if it ever goes bad just slap another in.
I get my bearings at eastern Bearing company.
zero end play and the washers keep the side play
to a minimum.

That looks great...I don't usually go in for the fancy knives, but that one combines simple, clean lines with tasteful decoration. The scales are really attractive too.
